It's hard to believe that term 1 is almost at an end! We have another busy week ahead though, before we all get a well-earned rest.
This week we will be building towards our Harvest celebration in church on Friday, when our presentation will be based on the theme of water. Hopefully many of you will be able come to see us perform.
In maths we will be persevering the the standard written method for long division - this is a method we need to be secure in by the end of year 6 and we are making good progress. If you want to practise at home, there are many helpful websites to explain the method - click here for the BBC Skillswise page which you might find helpful.
In English we are working hard on using apostrophes accurately - both those to indicate a contraction (sometimes called apostrophes for omission) and those to indicate possession. Although both skills should now be secure - applying in writing does not always demonstrate this! We will also be having a push on handwriting and joining of handwriting as these too are 'essentials' in year 6.
A quick reminder - secondary school applications must be submitted by October 31st. Click here for a quick link to the Kent application website.
