Week beginning 7th November
Well done to everyone, as we had a very productive first week back. Our ‘trip’ to the Roman baths really did the trick as the children are producing some fantastic explanatory texts using many of the features we had discussed in our lessons. Also, we seemed to have ironed out some of the misconceptions relating to subtraction, let’s see how the home learning goes.
In maths this week, we will have a quick review of time and data handling, while in English, once we have completed our explanation texts, we start a two week unit on fables, mostly using the versions of Aesop’s Fables by Michael Rosen. This week we will be looking at the meanings behind fables, together with the correct punctuation of speech.
Last week in our DT learning, we looked at food groups and The Eatwell Plate, and we move on this week to evaluating different lunchtime savoury sandwiches. Please make sure you have completed and returned the slip that was sent home last Thursday to allow your child to take part in the tasting.
The current swimming group have their last session on Friday, and the children in the next group have already received notification of the dates, arrangements and permission slips.
Congratulations to Archie who received our behaviour award last week.
