After a weekend full of fireworks we thought we would spend the week discussing what we have seen and trying to recreate our own displays.

To begin the week we will be learning about Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies and creating some hand print poppies to display in school.

We will then start to think about our own experiences of firework displays, whether they were in a muddy field or warm house! We will be using our senses to describe bonfire night and sorting pictures based on our senses. We will then be discussing fireworks safety and creating our own posters showing a fireworks rule.

We will be using our fireworks in Numeracy to practise our counting and ordering to 10 and 20.

In Phonics, we will be learning ck, e, u, r. We will introduce the term 'digraph' as two letters which combine to make one sound, just like in ck. We will also be introducing 'the' as our tricky work of the week and encouraging the children to spot it in their reading books.
