The singing has started, the tree and lights are up and the advent calendar has been started - the countdown to Christmas is underway but there is there is still work to be done in the next 2 and a half weeks (as well as a fair amount of festive fun!).
It was lovely to see all the parents last week at the parent consultation meetings - isn't it amazing how much you can squeeze into 10 minutes?
This week we change writing topic and will be starting a dual narrative based on The Truce - the Sainsbury's Christmas advert from 2014. We watched quite a few of the Christmas adverts last week and this was the class favourite, though the Bear and the Hare (John Lewis 2012) and Mog (Sainsbury's 2015) were close behind in the vote. In the past, writing from the perspectives of both soldiers in the advert has produced amazing results; hopefully we will see the same again this year.
On Friday( last week), we walked to the church with Green class to look at all the trees in the Christmas Tree Festival - all 90 of them! Thank you to the mums of Aimee, Grace and Rachel for accompanying us. In case some of the parents didn't make it, here is a photo of our contribution....
