Welcome to a week of learning about the 'The Queen's Knickers' (a story by Nicholas Allen in case you were wondering!)
This week we will be using 'The Queen's knickers' to inspire our learning. We will be designing our own knickers for the Queen for a particular purpose. We might even do some for her to wear if she were to visit Tunstall! We will be using the knickers to practise adding one more and working out one less and doing some addition and subtraction. Further in Maths, we will be practising ordering and recognising our numbers to 20. With the weather at the moment, we will also be looking at materials which are waterproof and doing some investigations into this!
In Phonics we will be continuing to learn our new phase 3 sounds. This week we will be learning y, z, zz and qu. We will be using these sounds when reading and writing words and trying to put them into simple sentences. I wonder if any of you will be able to spot these sounds in your reading or Bug Club books? Our tricky word of the week is 'she'.
This week is also a big step for Red Class as they will be coming in from the Red Class gate as mentioned in the recent letter. It is exciting to be just like the older children as we develop our independence and confidence.
We appreciate everything you are doing at home and can see the progress the children are making!
We are looking forward to another lovely week in Red Class.
The Red Class Team.
