Week beginning 16th October
Congratulations Blue Class - We won the school attendance award for September, meaning that Thursday is a non school uniform day for us. We have also had excellent attendance so far for October, so let's try to retain it this month.
It was good to see you all at our open afternoons, thank you for supporting us and your children.
The end of term invariably means assessments, first to check on the children’s progress and secondly to inform our planning for the coming weeks. Expect reading, spelling, grammar and science paced out at the beginning of the week, where there will also be space for our maths learning, still based on addition and subtraction. We will be wrapping up our Judaism learning in RE by looking at symbols and their meanings to Jews, while in history, we look at Roman life.
This year for harvest, the school is taking part in The Salvation Army at Harvest appeal, with all donations being used to make up Christmas parcels for the needy in our local area. We will be accepting donations of non-perishable goods up until Wednesday and our Harvest Celebration will be on Friday at 9:30 in the school hall, together with Red M, Orange A, Yellow R and Violet classes.
Thank you to everyone who tries to participate in Walk on Wednesday. We had 12, including me, who walked this week, meaning that we share the award this week with Orange S.
Don't forget that our PTA are holding a Family Autumn Disco on Friday evening from 7pm, which is guaranteed to be a spooktacular event with fun for all the family.
A reminder that there is no swimming this week, due to the harvest celebrations and also, there is no Netball or Football clubs after school on Friday.
Congratulations to Sebastian, who received our behaviour award last week.
