Trip to the Greenwich Observatory
We will have an early start on Tuesday- for the children at least - as the coach will leave the school car park well before the normal drop off time; children should arrive by 8am please, but stay in the car park, as we will register everyone there before hopping onto the coach. Thank you to Mrs Walker for arranging this science based trip - we are all looking forward to it.
As is often the case with year 6, this is not a normal week. In addition to the Greenwich trip, we have a skipping workshop on Wednesday, and various secondary school visits across the week. Please remember to advise us (via the contact book) if your child will be out of school for this reason.
In maths we move on to the standard written methods for multiplication and division - the pre-assessment identified both these areas as needing a refresher so hopefully the methods will become clearer by the end of the week. In English we will write a precis of a few chapters of our class text as well as writing a letter of advice to one of the main characters - Jeff Fishkin.
Last Thursday we welcomed a new class member - Demi - and hope that she settles in and feels 'at home' soon. Moving schools in year 6 can be tricky but I'm sure that we will help Demi make new friendships quickly.
