The Harvest preparations begin! Singing, tasting and a bit more singing!
This week we will be preparing for our Harvest celebration which will take place at the end of next week (Thursday 20th October). We will be learning our Harvest songs with Key Stage 1 and also preparing our own performance. We expect you might hear some of this at home too.
We will be reading the story 'Oliver's Vegetables' and doing some vegetable tasting of our own. We will be talking about how food is harvested and deciding on the vegetable we like the most.
In Numeracy we will be looking at the Numicon shapes and using these to help us practise our counting.
In Phonics we will be introducing some new sounds: I, N, M, D. We will be consolidating the sounds we have learnt last week: S, A, T, P. The children may begin to spot these sounds in their reading books.
Following the letter on Friday, on Tuesday afternoon, we will be going to the church for our Red Class Welcome Service. We hope to see you there!
