Week beginning 5th June
Hopefully, everyone has recharged their batteries and are ready for our final term together, where there will be lots to keep everyone engaged.
In English, we will be using Butterfly Lion, by Michael Morpurgo as our focus for the next few weeks, so, if you have a copy, please read along in class. Our focus will be on comprehension and speech punctuation this week. In maths, there is some place value learning, where we will be ordering and rounding numbers.
Our spelling learning is changing this term. We assessed spellings last term, and this term we will be focussing more on learning a rule, rather than specific words, in the hope that this will lead to a greater transference to our written work. We will be joining Green class for these sessions, which will be led by Mrs Black/Mrs Tollervey, Mrs Foot, Mrs Wilde and myself. As always, any questions just ask.
We start our local history study on Thursday afternoon, with a tour of the church. Mrs Tatchell will be our guide and we will be asking the children to make notes with the view to them producing a ‘guide book’ over the coming weeks. Should you wish to join us, we will be leaving school at 1:15pm and will be back at normal time.
We all hope for fine weather, but please keep an eye on the forecast to see if it is a coat and wellies day or a sun hat and lotion day!
