Mrs Armitage in 'Mrs Armitage on Wheels' and 'Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave'
First of all we'd like to congratulate Isabelle Carty in Yellow R and Bella in Yellow S for being awarded Star of The Week after our very first week in Year 2. Both girls have set a wonderful example of work ethic and behaviour. Great start ladies!!!!
After a brilliant start in Year 2, all of the Yellow R and Yellow S team are excited about the year ahead. Now that we have settled in a bit we can really crack on...this week we will be showing off our place value knowledge by comparing 2 and 3 digit numbers using the 'Selfish Crocodile' story to inspire our tasks. Mrs Armitage will be taking us 'On the Move' with nouns and adjectives as we remind ourselves how important they are in sentence structure.
In our foundation subjects this term we will be looking at the following:
PE - hockey skills (don't worry, no shin pads or gum shields needed) and gym floor work, focusing on shapes, balances and travelling.
Geography - comparing to towns (focusing on Sittingbourne and Miss Rogers' home seaside town of Whitstable).
Science - animals including humans, focusing on hygiene, health and different stages of growth.
Design Technology - safety clothing and the importance of the material used.
