In our third week we will continue to get to know each other and our school. We are encouraging the children to learn each others names so please ask your child about who they have met at school.
This week we will be continuing with our Early Work in the morning where the children rotate around five activities across the week. Three of these are adult led and 2 are independent so the children are working on their independence and resilience. Next week we will be focusing on the children's recall of 'The Kissing Hand', counting using Duplo bricks and our sound recognition.
Weather permitting we will be going on a nature walk on Monday to look at our surroundings. We will repeat this in a couple of weeks time when Autumn is in full swing to look at how our environment has changed.
We will also be doing lots of practical Maths this week. We will be trying to use mathematical language to describe height and weight and might even use the balance scales to compare 2 objects. Along with this we will be looking at 2D shapes and seeing if we can name and describe them.
We will also be looking at 'The Good Mood Hunt' by Hiawyn Oram. We will be thinking about the things which make us happy and drawing them in our own 'Good Mood Box'.
Our whole school value this term is Friendship and so we will also be thinking about how to be a good friend and making our own friendship trees to display in the classroom.
