Teachers in school on a Saturday! What's going on?
Hopefully the children will quickly notice the changes to the school grounds when they arrive on Monday. Luckily the weather was good and a team of staff and parent helpers achieved all of the tasks on the to do list plus several more besides. The team managed to build and fill 2 raised ponds, construct and fill 3 raised beds for our 'allotment', plant a hedge to enclose the area (58 hedge plants in all!), move and re-position fencing for the area, paint the PE shed and the MUGA shed, varnish 6 benches, tidy up the quiet area, litter pick, build a bug hotel and weeding, lots of weeding.
A big thank you goes to all who helped: Mr and Mrs Foot, Mrs H Heather, Mr Perager, Mr Chase, Mr Pamplin, Louis Sargent, Mrs Sargent, Mr Hutchings, Matt Wellard, Mr Hall, Mrs Waters and all of the teaching staff, many of whom will be struggling to walk for the next few days!
Although we achieved a great deal, there are still large areas which need to be weeded. If any parents could help form a 'weeding army', please let Mrs Hutchings know.
