We're not scared!
First of all we'd like to congratulate Yellow Classes on setting such good examples to younger and older children when walking around the school. You are making us proud!
Coming up this week we will be continuing with column addition in maths, extending to carrying ones. This is a tricky concept to understand so we are helping to embed the understanding using concrete manipulatives and some inventive use of nets!
In English this week we are going to explore how to use conjunctions (e.g. and, but, because, so, when, that, if) to join clauses in a sentence. The story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury will help us on our way. We may have to go on our own bear hunt around the school grounds...who knows what could be hiding behind the new hedge or by the new ponds, planters and bug hotel!!!
We will be sending home some attendance letters for our open afternoon next week. Please look out for them (the old fashioned way) in book bags then complete and send them back promptly so that we know how many additions to expect between 2:30-3:00 on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th . In Yellow Class you can expect to see Computing and Music on Tuesday afternoon or RE and D&T on Thursday.
We are pleased to announce that we have a new pupil joining Yellow R! We welcome Thomas O'Flaherty on Monday, we all look forward to meeting him.
