Wallets, purses and any other (pocket-sized) money containers please.
Week beginning 19th February
A new term heralds new topics, including electricity in science and crime and punishment through the ages in history. Loosely linking to our history, English, for the first two weeks, will focus on the novel Street Child by Berlie Doherty. If you can get your hands on a copy, please bring it in to read along as we follow the early life of Jim Jarvis in 1860s London.
In DT, we will be investigating, designing and making money containers. This week, we will look at purses, wallets and other pocket-sized money containers as a market research type activity. The more the children can bring in from home, the more successful this part of our learning will be.
Our PE comes in two parts, cricket on a Tuesday afternoon and dance on a Friday afternoon, for those children not swimming. Please make sure children have the correct kit in school for each activity, and are especially wrapped up warm for the Tuesday session, which will be outside, unless it is excessively wet.
Lent services for Key Stage 2 are this year at the church on Tuesdays at 9:15. We will leave very promptly after registration, and if you wish to join us, you are very welcome. Please make sure you child is dressed appropriately for the walk to and from the church.
Finally, congratulations to Amelia, who received our behaviour award for the last week of last term.
