Week beginning 19th March
It was great to catch up with many of you at the Parents Consultation meetings last week and, once again, thank you for your continued support of what we are trying to do for your children here in Blue Class. Hopefully, our circle time last Friday would have reminded the children how to continue to forge good relationships within the class, that being a good friend is a two-way process and therefore, something that both parties need to work on and not just expect to happen.
Our English learning for the rest of the term will focus on Poetry, starting with the use of similes before moving on to rhythm and rhyme, then writing our own list poem by the end of the week. Our maths focus will be area and perimeter, understanding the differences between the two and looking at ways to calculate both.
Our science gets practical again, as we look at the reasons why we have switches, constructing circuits using them and potentially making our own, using our previous knowledge of conductors and insulators.
History and RE this week make way for DT, where we hope to both design and make a paper template for our product. Next Monday and Tuesday (26th and 27th March), our mornings will be the actual making of the money container, where your help will be greatly appreciated in threading needles and untangling thread. There will be details going home asking for help, so if you can spare anything from half an hour to a whole morning, please let us know.
Grace will be taking up her invitation to Golden Club on Wednesday afternoon and Lucy was the recipient of the behaviour award last week, well done to both of you.
Finally, we will unfortunately be saying goodbye to Mrs Witt on Friday. While she has only been with us for a short time, she has very quickly become an integral part of the team here in Blue Class and a firm favourite with both staff and children alike. We will be sad to see her go but wish her every success in her new career.
