So the year 6 cherubs are two thirds of the way through their final year at Tunstall - only 2 terms (or 13 weeks) to go but there's a lot to squeeze into those 64 days....
We are of course on the countdown to SATs now and the next 4 weeks will be all about revision and consolidation, particularly in maths and grammar. We will also work on pace and timing as often the children are so engrossed , that they forget the timed element! As a reminder, SATs are w/c May 14th, with the Grammar/Punctuation/Spelling paper on Monday, Reading on Tuesday, Maths 1 and 2 on Wednesday and Maths 3 on Thursday.
In English we will be continuing with our Louis Sachar novel, There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom. We will start by learning how to precis (summarise) chapters then we will write our own 'Bonus Chapter'.
May pole dancing starts this week as we have 4 dances to learn. We are still planning to include the parents' dance (providing the May pole has survived the winter intact), so dust off those dancing shoes soon and maybe get a bit of skipping practice in!
Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to help with sewing our phone cases this Wednesday (apologies for putting the wrong date on the letter home). If anyone else wants to join us, come along on Wednesday at 1.15pm. We will continue next Wednesday, though probably only for a 1 hour session rather than all afternoon.
