Week beginning 23rd April
This week will prove to be quite an active week for Blue class. As well as our usual PE sessions on Tuesday and Friday, we have Coach Colin in on Wednesday to continue with the Move and Learn health programme and on Thursday, a skateboarding workshop that was postponed from last month due to snow.
Our persuasive text learning in English has already given the children some interesting issues to wrestle with and we will continue looking at zoos this week, in particular writing in different tenses. Later in the week, we will look at a variety of texts to try to identify further the techniques used.
Our maths learning this week continues with decimals, focussing on ordering and rounding, while in science, we look at how we hear sounds. Our DT learning is linked to science, where the children have started to consider how to make a working musical instrument, particularly reflecting on which part will vibrate to make the sound. It will be a couple of weeks before we make them, but if you could start to look out for suitable resources at home, it would be appreciated.
We do hope to have visitors in school on Monday afternoon, if work commitments allow, to round off our Crime and Punishment learning, but if that does not happen, it will be geography and RE.
Can I remind you once again that sun screen lotions should be applied at home and any medicines must be dropped into the office where a dosage form will need to be completed. Also, we recommend children bring in a water bottle and a hat each day.
Finally, congratulations to Megan who received our behaviour award last week.
