We have been working hard!
Our first week back after Easter was lots of fun! We started our new topics and had a super time planting our bean seeds.
In English lessons we will continue to learn about patterned text in stories and our story for this week we be 'The Blue Coat', a traditional Jewish story which is retold by Hugh Lupton. The children will be identifying patterned text and developing their understanding of how this helps us to enjoy texts. There will be lots of reading and writing practice too.
Our maths lessons will continue with the length and height topic and we will be moving on to using standard units of measure. The children will practice using centimetres and metres, to measure items around the classroom and solve simple problems. We will be reinforcing the use of relevant language such as taller, shorter, longest, shortest etc.
In science we will be continuing our 'Plants' topic and ensuring that our seeds are watered daily, especially in the hot weather.
I am sure that many of you will know that Miss Blear has joined Orange S class - Miss Blear is a student teacher from Christchurch University who spent time in our Reception class in the Autumn term. She has returned to complete her studies and will be working with Mrs Scargill for most of the Summer term. We are looking forward to working with her and really hope that she enjoys her time with us.
Mrs Scargill, Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Heather and Miss Kirkwood.
