Week beginning 30th April
We managed to negotiate the extra, fun activities last week, the police visit on Monday, Coach Colin from Charlton Athletic Football Club on Wednesday and skateboarding on Thursday with Liam from Team Rubicon. It was great to see most children giving these new experiences their all, just a shame that the behaviour of one or two always seems to put a damper on proceedings.
Moving onto the week ahead, in English, we look in a little more in depth at persuasive texts, picking out all the features in readiness for the children planning and writing their own the following week. Maths moves from decimals to money, where we will be ordering, comparing and adding this week.
Thursday is our visit to The Living Land event at Detling Showground. Could I remind you that registration is at 08:30 and the coach will be leaving at 08:45. Most of the events planned are outside, so please keep a close eye on the weather forecast and select outer clothing carefully, it may be waterproofs and wellies, or sun hats and lotion.
Please continue to keep an eye out for resources at home that may be useful for our DT learning. Your child should have a good idea now of the items they will be needing, as all children have now been given the chance to design their musical instrument.
Finally, congratulations to Ben who received our behaviour award last week.
