We are looking forward to welcoming members of our families during our open afternoons on Tuesday and Thursday this week!
We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors into our classroom. As usual, there will be fun learning activities for you to help with!
We have worked very hard on our maths topic 'Multiplication and Division' over the last two weeks. This week we will be continuing with with work on arrays and doubling and we will be practising using our skills to solve simple problems.
Our literacy genre is 'instructions' and we have been learning about the type of language to use when writing our own instructions. Our aim is to plan and make a healthy tortilla wrap as healthy eating is the theme of our Design and Technology lessons this term. 'Bossy' words (or verbs) will be a focus and the children will be thinking about how they can use words like 'slice', 'spread' and 'cut' in their sentences. They will also be including time connectives, such as 'first', 'after' and 'finally' in their work.
We have been busy practising our May dance and I would like to say 'well done' to all those children who have been working on their skipping skills - WELL DONE!! We now have to make some flowers to use to decorate the area.
In science, we are looking at plants and both classes have planted seeds in our school vegetable garden. We are really excited that the seeds have started to grow and are really enjoying watching and watering them - its very exciting! The next job will be putting canes in so that the runner beans can climb!
