We are all looking forward to our trip to Tyland Barn on Monday!
We can't wait! The children are really looking forward to the pond-dipping and bug-hunting activities and, of course, eating their packed lunch too!
Don't forget to apply 'all day' sun screen and to send your child with a sun hat - it looks like it will be a lovely day!
This week we will be preparing ourselves for the Spoken English Competition. If your child would like to enter please send in the piece they will be reading or reciting on Tuesday as we will be practising our reading in class on Tuesday and Wednesday and later in the week too if we need to. The class will be choosing the children that they would like to take part in the main competition.
Our maths this week continues with Place Value using numbers up to 100. In English lessons we will be continuing our work on Fantasy Stories and producing some writing for our Independent writing books too.
The children have been working extremely hard in their phonics lessons this term. This week we will be working hard on reading and writing tricky, high frequency words - the words that you 'just need to know' as they do not always follow the phonics rules that we have been learning. These words will include the days of the week and the months of the year. As always, we will be practising using these words in sentences.
Enjoy your week!
