My first week at Tunstall has been very exciting. I have been made to feel welcome and appreciate the time both children, parents, governors and staff have taken to make me familiar with the Tunstall way of doing things.
It has been lovely to see how engaged the children have been in their new classes and the effort they are making with the quality and presentation of their work. Green T class wrote me welcome letters which I have accordingly responded to. Violet class have started the book ‘Millions’ which I know has captured their interest from the start. I have been very proud of Orange class walking on their own to their classrooms in the morning; I acknowledge this is a big step for both the children and for some of you as parents/carers. Red class have ‘launched’ themselves into learning today and I have been able to visit both classes and spend time with the children. I look forward to meeting with some of you on Wednesday evening at 6.15pm in the hall. I intend to speak briefly and this will be followed by an informal time of chatting with hot drinks and biscuits kindly provided and served by our PTA.
