We hope that you have enjoyed the summer break and the lovely summer weather.
We are pleased that the children have settled very well into their classes. There have been lots of new routines and responsibilities to learn and the children have embraced the new challenges of Year 1 with great enthusiasm.
This week in our English lessons we will be reading Mr Gumpy's Motor Car by John Burningham. We will be focussing on the characters and setting as well as identifying the beginning, middle and end of the story. We are really looking forward to Thursday when we will be visited by a 1929 Austin vintage car and it's owner (our very own Mr Gumpy!).
In our maths lessons we have been reading, writing and ordering numerals. We are now working on making sets of items to match a number and identifying groups that are more or less. We will also be reading and writing the numbers to ten in words.
Orange S will be having a tennis workshop on Tuesday afternoon which they are looking forward to. Orange A will have their workshop next week.
We are looking forward to a super week.
Mrs Scargill, Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Jenkins, Miss Kirkwood, Mrs Harwood and Mrs Hall.
