Week beginning 1st October
Well done everyone for your fantastic attendance in September, which earns us a non-school uniform day next Friday 5th October. Shall we have a theme? I’ll leave that for you to decide but do keep me in the loop.
English this week continues with myths, where we will be looking again at their structure and using some drama to explore the issues that arise from these stories. We will also be reminding the children about the use of inverted commas when punctuating direct speech. Our topic in maths changes to addition and subtraction for the next two weeks with roughly a week spent on each. We will be refreshing the children’s knowledge on the standard method of addition, using 4 digit numbers, before using those skills to answer reasoning and problem solving questions.
In RE, we look at the Adam and Eve story and think more deeply about ‘The Fall’, while in history, we investigate Boudicca. Everyone will be keen to record the results of our science learning on Wednesday, with hopefully some interesting conclusions being drawn.
A reminder that there are school photos on Monday and an advance notice that our Harvest Celebration will be at the church on the afternoon of Friday 19th October.
Congratulations to Louie who received our behaviour award last week.
