This week will be somewhat disrupted by visits to secondary schools for open mornings/afternoons - particularly on Wednesday which is the Fulston open morning for Tunstall pupils. Can I just remind parents/carers to let me know via the contact book which events your child will be attending so that they do not get an unauthorised absence mark - thank you.
Other dates for the diary this week are:
Tuesday 9th - height and weight measurement - carried out by the school health team.
Thursday 11th - PESE (11+) results day. Results should be emailed at 4pm, but if, as there has been occasion in the past, you do not receive your email, I will be available from just after 4.30pm when my club finishes, until 5.15pm if you wish to contact me.
Please add next Tuesday (16/10) to your diary also as I will be holding a secondary transfer briefing at 3pm.
This week in English we are moving on to biographies and will look at layouts and features then researching content before writing biographies of Frank Cottrell-Boyce, the author of Millions. Our grammar focus this week will be subordinating conjunctions and our punctuation focus as a consequence will be commas.
Last week in maths we made great progress with long division and will finish off on Monday before moving on to common multiples, common factors, primes and time permitting, square and cube numbers.
