Week beginning 29th October
The start of a new term brings lots of new topics, so replacing history and art this term are geography and DT. In geography, we will be investigating coasts, while in DT, we embark on the food tech part of this subject, designing (and making) a healthy lunchtime snack. More of that in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, please make sure you return the consent slip, which will be going out on Tuesday, before 5th November, thank you.
In English, our focus is on Fables, while in maths, we have a week on measurement, in particular length and perimeter. There is a temporary postponement of our spelling groups, with the time being used for some whole class grammar and punctuation learning.
Do remember that our Tuesday PE session is outside, so please ensure that your child has a jumper and joggers to guard against the very strong winds that whip across the playground. Hockey is our focus this term, so shin pads and gum shields are also recommended.
We did have several incidents of incomplete PE kit last term, mostly due to those who do not bring back the kit after attending school clubs. Can I suggest that PE kits remain in school, and a separate one brought for after school clubs?
Finally, thank you to everyone who were able to join us at the church for our Harvest Celebration.
