Hopefully everyone has remembered that there is a staff development day on Monday and school restarts for pupils on Tuesday October 30th.
Our English focus this week is writing a letter of complaint - so start thinking about all those niggles you have come across when eating out! Structure is important as are formal language choices so we will be learning about how to use these effectively. Our grammar foci will be the use of modal verbs and relative clauses.
In maths we will spend a day reviewing the order of operations (as several children were out visiting secondary schools when we covered this in class), then we move on to fractions and this week will cover simplifying, comparing and ordering.
Please remember that our PE sessions are generally outside, so please ensure that your child has a hoody/tracksuit top and joggers to guard against the cold and blustery winds that whip across the playground/MUGA. Hockey and multi-skills are our topics this term: shin pads and gum shields are recommended for the hockey sessions.
As we had several incidents of incomplete PE kit last term, mostly due to those who do not bring back the kit after attending school clubs, please can PE kits remain in school during the week so that all children participate?
