Week Commencing: Monday 5th November 2018
This week will see us moving onto multiplication and division in maths. We’re going to start with a refresher of times tables we’ve learnt in Yellow Class- our 2s, 5s and 10s- before spending the next few weeks learning three brand new tables. We will start with our 3s this week, so take any chances you can to get some practise in!
In English, we will be reading Stone Age Boy. With our science topic revolving around rocks and our history topic focusing on the Stone Age, it’s starting to look like we will have nearly 60 geologists on our hands by Christmas!
In R.E. we will delve deeper into our World Faith focus for the next five weeks which is Sikhism. In week one, we shared what we already knew and came up with what we wanted to find out, so it’s time to start finding some answers.
With this being the first five-day week of the term, we get both our indoor and outdoor P.E. lessons, meaning we’ll be dancing in the hall and looking at improving our Hockey skills up on the MUGA. Joggers and jumpers would be advised following the recent change in the weather!
Two announcements to note from us. Firstly, could we please ask that starting next week, homework is returned one day earlier than previously mentioned, coming back by Thursday each week where possible. This allows us time to mark work completed so it can come home the very next day. We also want to clarify that after working on our spellings in classes this week, our differentiated groups will return next week, on Monday 12th November.
Congratulations to Zak of Green T and Ruby of Green B who won this week’s behaviour merit awards. Two new winners will be announced in our special Remembrance Worship this Friday, for which we are preparing displays and prayers within our two classes.
