Please accept my apologies for the late arrival of the blog. I’m up to speed now and will ensure it will be sent out on Monday in future.
Our class book this term is Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and much of our work in English will be based around this story. This week we are looking at narrative perspective and will be rewriting a chapter from the point of view of Kensuke, a marooned Japanese soldier. We will also be looking at how to set out speech correctly.
In Maths we will be looking at perimeter and area in simple and composite shapes. We will also explore the relationship between area and perimeter.
This term, our topic in science is Earth and space. Last week we looked at the planets in our solar system and looked at their positions in relation to the sun. This week we will be defining what is meant by a day and a year and will compare the length of days and years on earth, with other planets in our solar system.
