Now that assessment week is out of the way, it's time for a bit of Christmas themed writing...
We will start the week by watching the 2014 Sainsbury's Christmas advert which is based on the real life story of a Christmas day truce in the trenches. Once we have studied it in detail, and done sequencing and vocabulary work, we will be writing a dual narrative - telling the story from the points of view of both the British and the German soldier. This will give us a chance to show off our descriptive writing as well as our use of advanced punctuation.
In maths we move on to fractions of amounts and then general consolidation work on fractions to finish off the topic.
No doubt the children have told you all about our fabulous display - pictures will be posted by Mrs Castle, later in the week.
I look forward to meeting you all at the consultation meetings - I realise that ten minutes isn't long, but I aim to update you with your child's attainment and progress as well as discussing the recent assessment and behaviour for learning.
