What a great first full week! We have completed plenty of hook activities to draw the children in!
This week we have been:
Counting in ones and tens in maths.
Immersing the children into traditional tales in English.
Recapping Year 1 learning about the UK in discovery.
Creating our own maps in art.
Next week we will:
Continue our place value topic in maths.
Creating our toolkit for our own traditional tale in English.
Take a closer look at seas and oceans around the UK.
Notes:
Each week we challenge the children to read at least 3 times to an adult at home and for it to be written in their reading record book.
Each Friday the reading record books will be checked and stamped by the Reading Owl to celebrate the reading enjoyed at home. A distinct line will also be drawn across the page to show the end of the week.
Those children who gain 5 stamps in their Reading Record by the end of Term 1 will receive a prize.
We kindly ask parents/carers to send a set of spare clothes to school for their child in a bag to go on their peg, in case they are needed during the school day. Please ensure the clothes are clearly labelled with your child’s name and are suitable for the current season. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Kind regards,
Yellow Class Team
